1) Add this to your apt sources:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-members-kde4/ubuntu hardy main

Refresh your sources.

2) Click here: apt://kubuntu-kde4-desktop
or, $ sudo apt-get install kubuntu-kde4-desktop

Logout, and login with a KDE session. That’s it.

If you want to change your bootsplash, open your startup-manager: apt://startupmanager

Click Appearance -> Usplash themes -> pick which theme you want to use.

Thanks to Fr3ddie on launchpad for these tips on getting Hardy to work with Pulseaudio on an Intel 82801H (ICH8 Family) sound card:

1. In “System–>Administration–>Services” enable the “… (alsa-utils)”
2. In the file: /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base add the following line (at the end):
options snd-hda-intel model=lenovo
3. In “System–>Preferences–>Sound” set PulseAudio wherever possible
4. Regulate the ALSA mixer levels properly (important if you want to preserve your hears at reboot….) and set the “front-mic” as the default microphone (that should be the integrated one, the other should be the front mic jack, but I don’t know if it works… if you’ll know please share )
